The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the March 18 governorship election in Kano State, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, is not afraid of the appeal challenging his victory at the tribunal. The Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal recently declared the APC as the winner of the election and removed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf from office.
The three-man panel ordered Gawuna to be issued a certificate of return and took away the certificate of return given to Yusuf. The court found that 165,663 votes were invalid because they were not stamped or signed. These votes were then deducted from Yusuf’s total.
Gawuna expressed his gratitude to Allah for their victory in the Kano State election. He thanked Allah for choosing them to lead and also thanked their lawyers and the general public for their prayers and support.
Gawuna mentioned that initially, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) was declared the winner of the election. However, he believed that Allah had already decided the outcome. He stated that they had the right to challenge the results in court, and they did so. Gawuna emphasized that those who believe in Allah’s will never worry or see governance as a life-or-death matter. They firmly believe that whatever happens to them is the will of Allah.
Gawuna made it clear that they are not intimidated or afraid because they know that whatever happens is for the best. He firmly believes that Allah never makes mistakes.
