Hey there, middle schoolers! Today, we’re going to talk about the upcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State. The Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alhaji Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, also known as Muri, recently expressed his complete trust in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fair and transparent election. Let’s find out more!
Ajaka, during the launch of the Citizens Interactive Website at the SDP campaign office in Abuja, shared his confidence in INEC. He mentioned that INEC has clear rules and guidelines for elections, and they have always followed them. No matter how INEC decides to conduct the election, Ajaka and his party are ready to follow. They believe that INEC will ensure a transparent election in Kogi State, and with the support of the people, they are confident of winning.
Ajaka also addressed allegations that he was running an ‘Igala’ agenda, favoring a specific ethnic group. He clarified that his agenda is for the entire Kogi State and its people. He emphasized that the people of Kogi East have chosen him as their preferred candidate, and his focus is on the overall development of the state, not just one particular group.
During the event, Barr. Realwan Okpanachi, the Campaign Legal Secretary of Ajaka Campaign Council, explained the purpose of the Citizens Interactive Website. This website allows people to donate and provide information about their communities, in case Muri becomes the governor and wants to assist them. It aims to give the citizens a sense of ownership and responsibility by allowing them to contribute and share important information about the issues affecting their communities.
