The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ogun State and the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) have given the state government four days to lower the fees of all state-owned higher institutions.
The student associations believe that the increase in school fees is meant to make life difficult for them and the people of the state.
The students’ body held a press conference in Abeokuta to express their concerns. They argue that the higher fees will make it harder for them to afford an education and will negatively impact their families and communities.
NANS and NAOSS have given the state government a four-day ultimatum to reverse the fee hikes. If the government does not comply, the student associations may take further action to protest the unfair treatment.
