Hey there, middle schoolers! So, there’s this guy named Wale Adedayo who used to be the Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government in Ogun State. But guess what? He got suspended because some councilors thought he was mismanaging money. They wanted to investigate him to find out the truth.
Now, let’s talk about what happened in court. Wale Adedayo went to the Ogun State High Court in Ijebu Ode and asked them to stop the councilors from investigating him. He wanted the court to give him an order to make them stop. But you know what? The court said no!
Wale Adedayo’s lawyer, Barrister O.T. Are, argued in court that his client should be protected from the investigation. He said they should either stop the councilors from calling him to appear before them or keep things the way they are until the court makes a final decision.
But the judge, Justice Ayodele Omoniyi, didn’t agree with Wale Adedayo’s lawyer. He said that Wale Adedayo knew about the investigation since August 31st, but he waited until September 11th to go to court. The judge thought that was too late and not fair. He said, “delay defeats equity.”
So, what does all of this mean? Well, it means that the councilors can keep investigating Wale Adedayo. They don’t have to stop just because he went to court. The court said that Wale Adedayo should have gone to court earlier if he wanted them to stop the investigation.
That’s the story, middle schoolers! Wale Adedayo tried to stop the councilors from investigating him, but the court said no. They said he should have gone to court earlier. So now, the investigation can continue. We’ll have to wait and see what happens next!
