Hey there, middle schoolers! So, something big went down at the Police headquarters in Abuja. Members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) were super upset about the killing of three policemen and some party members in Kogi State. The governorship candidate of the party, Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, led the protest.
Well, the SDP candidate and his crew were demanding that the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, be removed and prosecuted. They believed that he wasn’t doing a good job of keeping people safe in the state.
Here’s where things get really intense. Some bad guys, pretending to be part of the state joint taskforce, attacked the home of the SDP Campaign Director General, Sheikh Ibrahim, early in the morning. It was a scary situation. Three policemen were killed, and six SDP supporters were kidnapped. It’s really sad and scary when things like this happen.
Right now, the SDP governorship candidate, Ajaka, the Campaign Director General, Col. Suleiman Babanawa (retd), and a former Kogi State Deputy Governor, Simon Achuba, are having a meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. They’re probably discussing how to make things better and keep everyone safe.
