Kunle Salako, who is Nigeria’s Minister of State for Environment and Ecological Management, has a message for all the young people out there. He wants them to focus on serving their country before asking for anything in return.
Salako shared his thoughts during the Ayetoro-Yewa Day event in Ayetoro, Yewa North LG, Ogun State. As someone who grew up in Ayetoro, he believes that Nigerian youth should actively contribute to building the nation by serving diligently wherever they find themselves.
Salako used a farming analogy to explain his point. Just like a farmer needs to cultivate and plant seeds to get a harvest, the youth must serve their land before expecting anything in return.
The minister emphasized that if the youth serve their land, their land will serve them back. It’s all about reciprocity. By prioritizing the needs of their country, they can expect their country to prioritize their needs as well.
Salako assured the people of Ogun that the Federal Government, particularly the Federal Ministry of Environment, will give the state the attention it deserves.
