The Supreme Court made a decision on Monday regarding an appeal filed by Senator Smart Adeyemi. The appeal was against the judgments of the two lower courts on the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Kogi State. The primary election took place on April 15.
The Supreme Court unanimously dismissed the appeal, stating that it lacked merit. The appeal failed to challenge the findings of both the High and Appeal courts or prove that those findings were incorrect. The court also found the two issues raised in the appeal to be unreasonable, vexatious, and against the provisions of the Evidence Act 2011.
This means that Senator Smart Adeyemi’s appeal has been rejected by the Supreme Court. The judgments made by the lower courts regarding the APC primary election in Kogi State will stand. Senator Smart Adeyemi will also have to pay the respondents a sum of N2 million.
