The government of Ondo State has revealed that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is currently working from Ibadan, Oyo State instead of the capital, Akure. This is due to accommodation challenges.
Since returning from a medical vacation abroad, Governor Akeredolu has been absent from the state. This has caused some concerns among the people, especially the opposition party’s youth group who issued an ultimatum for his return.
The Special Adviser on Special Duty and Strategy to Governor Akeredolu, Doyin Odebowale, explained that the governor’s state of health requires a better apartment for him to carry out his duties effectively.
Previously, Governor Akeredolu stayed in a two-bedroom apartment called the Presidential Lodge. However, he cannot occupy that place anymore. The Governor’s Lodge, which was built by the previous administration, is now being used as an office.
Due to the governor’s health condition, a new place is being arranged for him. This new accommodation is almost completed and will provide the necessary environment for his recovery.
