Guess what? The Board of Immigration, Civil Defence, Fire and Correctional Services has given the green light to promote a whopping 32,361 personnel from the four services! That’s a lot of people!
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, shared all the exciting details about the promotions through the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi, in Abuja on Friday.
Out of the 7,000 wardens who took the promotion examination, a total of 4,498 personnel from the Nigerian Correctional Service were promoted. That’s a big achievement!
Similarly, 4,598 Immigration officers out of 6,544 and 1,680 fire service personnel out of 1,698 who took the promotion exams were also elevated. Great job, everyone!
But guess what? The majority of those promoted were from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Out of the 25,951 officers who took the promotion exams, a whopping 21,385 of them succeeded. That’s amazing!
This is a historic moment because it’s the first time ever that such a huge number of officers have been promoted by the board. It’s a big deal!
The Minister, Dr. Tunji-Ojo, had an important message for all the newly promoted officers. He told them to see this promotion as a new chapter in their careers and to take their responsibilities seriously. With great promotions come great responsibilities, after all!
He added, “Promotions come with enormous responsibilities and to whom much is given, much is expected.” So, it’s time for these officers to step up and serve the nation with dedication and commitment.
